This work heeds my brother’s hand, 2020, made just after and in response to the summer of fire. Other than the cloth, a disintegrating cotton curtain backing, the materials were gathered on and close to my brother's home in Lake Conjola.
I can’t help but think we are still being asked to pay attention to the fragile state of things surrounding us. Making with what is at hand, with ritual and transformation of the everyday, through the element of water.
